About the Artist
Alexandra Oremus grew up in Laguna Niguel, California. Inspired by the ocean, she started painting on canvas at the age of 9. She graduated from University of North Florida with a Bachelors of Arts in IDS (Biological Art). The inspiration for her work is derived from the raw beauty of the ocean and the rain forests and her strong desire to help protect these endangered ecoystems. Surfing is another major source of inspiration for her work as well.
Her paintings are primarily acrylic, but she is also skilled in other mediums, such as oil, watercolor, and airbrush painting. Her education at UNF has allowed her to explore other art forms such as ceramics and surfboard shaping. She enjoys pottery and glazing techniques and has shaped and designed a few surfboards as well. She started selling her artwork in 2015 at the Jacksonville Beach Artwalk. She is currently working on commission paintings and mural work on Mayport Rd. Atlantic Beach, FL.
